Education in India
The children in the highest castes in India enjoy modern schools and universities. By contrast, over 40 million school-aged Sudra children will not attend any kind of school this year, being forced to work in (officially illegal) child labor to help the family escape starvation. Even those who attend government-provided schooling get little more than unsupervised day care, allowing both parents to seek manual labor jobs often far from home. Teaching in these schools is effectively non-existent, and the children usually only attend what we would call preschool or kindergarten levels before being sent to work. None ever learn to read or write in these schools. Private schooling is the only real alternative where literacy and education are possible. The quality of education received by Indian children whose parents can afford any kind of private schooling vary widely, from wealthy high caste schools to crowded, poorly staffed schools for the Sudra and other poor. Most schools are Hindu schools, where worship of the Hindu gods is taught and practiced daily from the earliest ages.
The Indian Christian School (ICS) was founded in 2009 in the home of Esudas and Vijaya Bontha. By 2016 the new campus was opened. ICS has a current enrollment of 254 students and about 20 staff, operating 3 buses and serving the poorest children in the region, teaching them not only the Gospel of Christ but also how to read the Bible for themselves.

New Neighbors
Since starting in a rice field in 2014, the area around the ICS campus has grown dramatically.
In 2024, a factory for the production of Ganesh idols was opened next door to the school.
ICS is literally on the front line of the battle for Truth against idolatry and false religion.
